Shit, that was slick. Ima practice that move in my adult league so I can brick/airball the shot.
I would just dribble the ball off my foot and force it out of bounds...
I would bounce it off a buttcheek out of bounds myself.
No doubt no doubt
In your league they'll call you for carrying.
I feel like I just read my own comment.
It's very effective in any pickup game. Position your shoulders towards your teammate and pull a hesitation dribble while doing so. Then you dribble through real quick and hit em with the okie doke.
I hit him, just like you said. I dislocated my shoulder.
That was a move straight out of Kuroku no Basket
He's really improved his game overall. He's becoming a much better shooter imo.
Watch out for low hanging nuts
Blake Griffin has grown a ton since his days in a Clippers Jersey. He's a 24.9/7.7/5.4 player with a respectable 36.1% three point shot; that goes without mentioning how much he has become a leader in Detroit.
Also, I move to second that Yu Yu Hakusho is indeed lit.
The motion passes. Yu Yu Hakusho is lit.
RUNNING IN A CROWD
IN A FACELESS TOWN
I NEED TO FEEL THE TOUCH OF A FRIEND
The only episodes I've watched from that show was the entire dark tournament arc, and it was fantastic. Is the rest of the show that good?
Most say DT is the best arc but the rest is worth it. They recently released two all new original animations for the anniversary.
Yes but the DT ark/s is fucking LIT
I recommend checking out Hunter X Hunter: same creator, similar concepts, and an assassin clown whose powers are inspired by candy.
DT was the high point
Anything before is more of an adventure than straight up fighting
The arc right after the dark tournament is really good too. The ending wasnt the best, but its good enough imo
The last arc is really short but has some really good hiei backstory, so if you liked hiei youll probably like it. It also has the best ending to an anime i think ive seen
Yomi vs Yusuke is my top best anime fight ever.
I liked the dark tournament ark a lot, but I loved the sensui ark that was pretty much right after it. It's has some of Chris Sabat's best voice acting
Smile Bomb! One of the best English intros ever.
Sports fans: Something something that dude play good.
Anime fans: SMILE BOMB INTENSIFIES
Is it me or does blake griffin kinda look like kazuma to anybody else?
Edit: lol its totally not just me i found this
Do you mean kuwabara or am I missing something?
Kazuma is Kuwabara's first name.
Did you notice the name of the person who submitted this post?
Oh fuck, this is such a good show.
I don’t follow basketball, but I like understanding stats. I’m assuming that stat line is Points/Assists/Rebounds?
I used the order Basketball Reference goes by, Points/Rebounds/Assists.
This happens to everyone that goes to play in the East. Look what happened to Lebron once he moved to the west; can't even make the playoffs.
Tbf he’s playing just as great as he had. The record is a combo of a bad roster, coaching, and injuries
Are we talking the same Lebron?
I've seen quite a few articles that say otherwise. He's not fully invested in the Lakers. I've seen games where he just doesn't defend and/or does the bare minimum.
He always takes some plays off. Look at his stats. Almost identical to last year.
Never seen Lebron looking so old on defense tho. Even last year he looked a lot better on D
Not in the regular season. Plus he has nothing to play for at this point
Not the goat yet. Mugsy, baby
I don’t think it’s that. He looks the same, the competition is tougher, and as such it’s way more glaring. I watched the game yesterday and thought it was a joke. He didn’t even try to get in a defensive stance.
I've seen games where he just doesn't defend and/or does the bare minimum.
No, you've seen individual plays that make him look bad, usually attached to articles critical of him.
For my money he is still the best in the world.
I think the “best in the world” talk is based a lot on legacy and picturing what he was in the past. Is he a top 2-3 player of all time, career wise? Of course. But if you’re drafting a team today to win a championship, and not picking KD, AD, or Giannis before LBJ, I think you’re crazy.
Just depends on what you're looking for in your anchor. KD doesn't have the same ability at the point but can run the rest of the floor at least as well, AD passes well for a center but does his best work being fed down low or rebounding, Giannis might have the best argument for your pick(especially if you're looking in the future), but Lebron can still play every position and has led teams to championships before(I know KD has rings, but he's not the leader of GSW). LBJ is 5th in PPG, 3rd in assists, and 22nd in rebounds, so it's not a matter of "what he was in the past" either.
None of those would be bad picks, but you're definitely not crazy for taking LBJ. If the Lakers put some more talent around him this offseason you'll probably have a different outlook at this time next year.
Ehh honestly I disagree. All depends who is around them, because if lakers were healthy this year I think we would see a different LeBron. He has no reason to play the great defense he’s capable of. No playoffs, no chance at playoffs, so why go all out when you’d rather have a higher draft chance? All of the players you mentioned are phenomenal but I would still pick LeBron. You think AD or KD are better choices? Giannis I think is you best answer besides LeBron but if it’s only one year then I’d still take LeBron but five year team? Yeah then any of the other guys.
So wait, are you saying he IS the best in the world, or are you saying he is half-assing it because he can’t make the playoffs?
Both. I believe he’s still the best player in the world although you’ll notice in the last two years the gap has narrowed. He still plays just as well offensively as he did three years ago in most areas and could probably fill the stat sheet more. However, I do think he is Lax on D because he knows he is getting older and believes that playing intense D for longer stretches will wear his body down faster. I think if they were on the bubble right now we would see a higher level of defense from him. Also I apologize if my comment wasn’t clear, I was at work when I commented it.
I can tell you don’t catch many Laker games, and neither do many in the media these days. Lebron is the same old Lebron, and he hasn’t played defense in years. Last year around this same time there were these same talks as the Cavs were one of the worst defensive teams in the league. I feel like he feels he has zero reason to put unnecessary tread on his aging body at this point,
Nah. Your not bashing lebron nearly hard enough
Yeah right. And if the Lakers win, it's all because of him and the roster was never a problem.
Everything Lebron related is so toxic. Durant was right.
The west is better than the east...but the fact that Blake has evolved beyond an athletic dunker to become a well rounded ball handler, 3pt threat, and post player has nothing to do with that. In addition to his leadership role. Also LeBron was injured for 15 games and no one on that team besides him and Kuzma can score. The Lakers were in the top 5 of the lottery before LeBron so it's not like they were right on the bubble.
But Blake was doing this the last couple years as a clipper. He never got credit for it, but looks the same as when he left imo
Why do you need to bring Lebron into this and bring Griffin down? It’s ridiculous that people always have to bring lebron into the convo to bring other great eastern players down.
BG has been this good for the past couple of years. He has just been injured on and off so no one has noticed
no one expected them to make the playoffs at the beginning of the season. their roster was even dubbed "the meme team" for their off season signings. they played fairly well for the first half of the season until injuries took out a lot of key role players on their roster.
Yeah, before lebron misses 18 games due to injury they were over performing and well on track to make the playoffs.
“No one”? Check the preseason Vegas odds dude. This is blatantly a lie.
they were universally expected to make the playoffs. link a reputable preseason projection without them included.
Possibly the best username in history.
Don't forget the weird shit he did when the ball wasn't in play. I still remember him playing San Antonio, the refs called a foul and it was a side out. In the background you see Blake try to dunk the ball, hit the rim, then straight up cartwheels to the ground hitting hard. As a Spur fan even I was like "The fuck you doing?!"
Confirmed Blake of the year
We’re not sure where his cell phone answering skills are at this season.
Tell de truf
Just wait until the b.o.a.t signs his new deal
What about BlAkE BoRtLeS?
As long as he's not on a plane when the call comes.
I mean it's not hard to make the Lakers look foolish this year but that was smooth!
Lakers: “We must build around our young core.” Rest of NBA: “Yes. Do that.”
I just saw Blake Griffin drill a 3 in 2019. 2009 me is shaking rn
Stop, please. I’m a veteran of the epic Pacers Pistons battles of the aughts and I can’t express how painful it is to hear that wrenching cry.
From the 04 Prince rundown to the Melee and countless others, I feel those wounds most of all.
That sound, that damn sound.
B-b-b-b-billups is my favorite one. I can hear it vividly after watching that team in the palace so many times. That was an amazing atmosphere and one of the greatest post season runs ever. Beating Kobe and Shaq with that team still blows my mind.
Duuude, I remember I was at church summer camp when the brawl at the palace happened and my parents told me about it in a letter they wrote me.
Will get overlooked as MVP, but he’s honestly the biggest reason the Pistons are even in a playoff spot.
Of course he will there are far more deserving players.
Saying that he has been superb and deserves 2nd team all NBA
Dude, Griffin is good, but 2nd team All-NBA? There’s just no way. If you have Giannis and George on first team, that means one of Leonard or Durant doesn’t make it on 2nd team because of Griffin.
Yeah Leonard has missed too many games imo to make second.
You could put Kawhi in second, but it would bump Embiid down and he deserves it more
Center and Forwards are separated in All-NBA, so Kawhi and Embiid won't affect each other's position
I was assuming that all nba had been changed to 2 back, 3 front court like allstar but seems i was wrong.
Either way Kawhi hasn't played enough for me
Kawhi and Embiid don't play the same position, why would he get bumped down?
Ok that’s a valid argument. I think he’s still played enough overall, but his missed games are adding up.
Rudy Golbert won DPOY last year with only 56 games. Leonard will have plenty
Yever heard of a comma?
I like Blake but he isn’t even in the conversation for mvp
Laughs in Thon Maker
He's been falling behind lately and Andre Drummond is carrying that team. Love Blake though.
It’s more like everyone else has been stepping up and he’s distributing more than having to take it to the hole or make something happen himself. The ball movement has been a lot better post ASB.
Coach casey too. Every time they play the raps, the pistons shut em down.
He was really good on Broad City
The ole okiedok
Dudes been on a tear recently and honestly Pistons fans deserve it for all the years of heartache.
Blake of the year!
I just started watching Yu Yu Hakusho today. Shit is most definitely lit.
I finished it today lol
It'll be just as good your 10th time rewatching it.
I met him once in Norman at a restaurant. We stood and talked a minute. Super nice guy. Don’t know why I felt the need to tell this short story. Here I’ll say it for you: “Cool story, bro”
Hey man I appreciate the urge to tell that story and that it’s difficult to articulate how enjoyable the moment was.
I’ll give you a 2 for 1: My mom was good friends with Henry Winkler (the Fonz/Arrested Development lawyer) in college and Paul Rudd rear ended my aunt and offered to pay for the whole thing even though it was her fault
Thanks, man. You nailed it. It’s hard to tell it like it happened.
So what is Henry Winkler like according to your mom?
He was just a really nice and funny guy who she didn’t expect to become famous. He’s like a ray of sunshine on whoever’s life he comes across. Which is guess is what actors ideally should be
... and then shoots a 3 instead of driving towards the basket in a 2-on-1 situation as a 6'10" power forward.
Today's NBA in a nutshell.
Blake hits 49.2% of his three point attempts from the left corner, with the fifth most makes from that range behind the likes of Stephen Curry, Buddy Hield, Marvin Williams and Bojan Bogdanovic. That's an effective field goal percentage of 73.81% if I'm not mistaken. While I'd probably want Blake to pound down low and get an easy two, that's a good shot for him.
Thank you. People act like 3 pointers aren't real.
I can't believe he'd be that selfish when they're down by so many points.
I mean he made it. I hate the way the game is going but he was wide open
Yeah, and he's one of the best in the game with that shot this season.
I have to agree that the constant three point shooting and loss of the post and midrange games does bother me though. That said, depending on the night, I've seen Blake actually learn some moves down-low and he's been pretty consistent on the year.
To reiterate what my favorite college teams coach would say “if you have an open 3, you take it”
He was alone and had time to set. That's not much more than a free throw for these guys.
It's called making a smart decision.
If you can’t shoot a 3, get the fuck out
I was going to say, he looks damn big to be shooting that far out. Feels like in the 90's even long range jumpers were out of the question for somebody his size.
I thought that was going to be a crazy carry then he went through the legs with it. So smooth
Fuckin Blake Superior
when this dude came into the league he couldn't even hit free throws. now he's a decent 3 point shooter. crazy what hard work can accomplish.
Those are Lakers, not defenders.
I mean he fooled one. The other was sticking with his man!
Who's to blame there?
Honestly both are to blame for not communicating. They need to know whether they are switching or fighting through the screen. One of the defenders should have stayed with Grifin either way. If he had made the handoff, a quick pass back would have the same result.
Blake of the year no question
I want to have a lot of sex
It just makes me happy that it was against LeBron's team
Love this man, happy he’s playing for the pistons
Dudes grown a lot since his days in Slam Dunk
The game was out of reach after that.
The dude can ball the clips messed up on losing this dude
That's why they call him Fake Griffin
This might be a hot Blake but that was dope!
Glenn Jacobs, formerly known as the wrestler Kane and current mayor of Knox County Tennessee looks strongly like he could be Blake Griffin’s dad. Look it up, pass it on, spread the word.
Love this move by Blake.
Blake is underrated now
dont know whose who. All i see is the one defender on the far left was doing his job correctly while the inside defender (white guy) didnt follow the guy with the basketball like he should have...
I dont even watch NBA, nor play the game but i know this. Graphics look decent, must be on PC and not console.
Hard to say who’s fault it is, defenders switching who they are guarding on screens or handoffs is very common depending on scheme and situation
You're assuming man defense. In zone defense they would have switched the players they were guarding during this play.
Basketball’s version of the hidden ball trick
I can't stand basketball, but good good that was filthy
That was a nice move
That boy smooth
he’s been going too crazy
That was dirty and clean at the same time
Oooooooh DAMN that was spicy.
