If trump really was a Russian asset he would be working to divide America, shut down its government, and shamelessly let Russian oligarchs out of sanctions while advancing their interests abroad.
I think allowing the US to crumble is a bigger goal than rolling across some petty border. They might just chill and allow Rome to fall before making moves like that.
But I really don't fucking know. This shit is all new territory.
I have read before that Putin believes the only way forward for the world is to equalize the great powers. He knows he cannot bring Russia up to the standards of the US (why I'm not sure) so he wants to bring the US down to Russia. This is Trump's job and thus far, he is succeeding.
And if he's not a russian asset, then why the hell is he doing their dirty work for free? If he was profiting from legitimately taking direct orders from Russia this whole thing at least makes sense... but if he's not, then why the hell is he doing work for them pro bono?
"So what if I'm a Russian Asset. There is nothing in our laws that a US President cannot be allowed to be a Russian Asset. It's very cool; very legal."
Im waiting for this dense taint to say this. Anytime now.
"We had to collude to stop Crooked Hillary."
every single conservative nods in approval
"I'd rather be Russian than a Democrat"
I'd rather be an American than a Republican
I think you nailed it there. Start a t-shirt company out of your garage.
Why shouldn't we do favors for Russia?
That's what friends do!
Smells like a duck, walks likes a duck..... gives classified info to ducks, lifts sanctions and refuses to implements bipartisan enacted additional sanctions on ducks, leaves war zones at ducks requests, has close advisors arrested and serving time for duck related activities.....
Got any grapes?
Then he waddled away, waddle waddle, till the very next day
The Russians even have duck pics of him
We need to stop feeding these assholes bread.
would you rather be governed by one duck-sized russian or a hundred russian ducks?
Something to keep in mind:
If it's public that he's doing this, it means he already has a mountain of evidence to prove that he is a Russian asset. The FBI has something like a 95% conviction rate. If this were a standard DA, they'd have already gone to trial.
Yes, this stuff is to prep the general population for the news.
I'm so fucking excited!
I'm fucking depressed. The president of the United States, purported leader of the free world, is a russian asset.
Despite all available evidence supporting this, 42% of my countrymen do and will continue to support him.
I hear Copenhagen is nice this time of year?
Edit: availabke to available.
Worse, we've known about his ties to the Russian mafia since the 1980s, if not earlier. Trump was banned from doing business in Australia when their intelligence services found "extensive ties" to the Russian mob, as one example. It was obvious from the beginning. But "No puppet! No puppet! You're the puppet" was all the convincing millions of Republicans needed to overlook it.
Robert Mueller is Investigating President Trump as a Russian Asset.
President Trump is a Russian Asset.
But he comes with your choice of free prosecutor!
The prosecutors are from the Federalist society
But they may still love what's left of the Constitution enough to help get rid of Trump
The prosecutor contains potassium benzoate.
This really is panning out like Trump found a cursed Monkey's Paw.
"Oh Monkey's Paw, make me the bigliest figure in American history!"
Very cool & not very legal
The KGB facilitated his 1987 Moscow trip at a time they were trying to recruit prominent Americans in business, culture and politics, and they specifically targeted vain, egotistical men who were prone to infidelity and also had political ambitions.
Just months after that trip, he spent $100k on full-page US newspaper ads bemoaning US foreign policy - specifically our support for allies.
The Trump family had been followed by Czech/Soviet intelligence since at least 1977 when he married Czech Ivana.
Also note he started speaking publicly about running for president in 1987, months after his Moscow trip.
Changed registration to Republican, July 1987.
copy/pasting from another thread:
Trump was first compromised by the Russians back in the 80s in the days of the Soviet Union. In 1984, the Russian Mafia began to use Trump real estate to launder money and it continued for decades. In 1987, the Soviet ambassador to the United Nations, Yuri Dubinin, arranged for Trump and his then-wife, Ivana, to enjoy an all-expense-paid trip to Moscow to consider possible business prospects. Only seven weeks after his trip, Trump ran full-page ads in the Boston Globe, the NYT and WaPO calling for, in effect, the dismantling of the postwar Western foreign policy alliance. The whole Trump/Russian connection started out as laundering money for the Russian mob through Trump's real estate, but evolved into something far bigger.
In 1984, David Bogatin — a Russian mobster, convicted gasoline bootlegger, and close ally of Semion Mogilevich, a major Russian mob boss — met with Trump in Trump Tower right after it opened. Bogatin bought five condos from Trump at that meeting. Those condos were later seized by the government, which claimed they were used to launder money for the Russian mob. (NY Times, Apr 30, 1992)
Felix Sater is a Russian-born former mobster, and former managing director of NY real estate conglomerate Bayrock Group LLC located on the 24th floor of Trump Tower. He is a convict who became a govt cooperator for the FBI and other agencies. He grew up with Michael Cohen--Trump's former "fixer" attorney. Cohen's family owned El Caribe, which was a mob hangout for the Russian Mafia in Brooklyn. Cohen had ties to Ukrainian oligarchs through his in-laws and his brother's in-laws. Felix Sater's father had ties to the Russian mob. This goes back more than 30 years.
Trump was $4 billion in debt after his Atlantic City casinos went bankrupt. No U.S. bank would touch him. Then foreign money began flowing in through Bayrock (mentioned above). Bayrock was run by two investors: Tevfik Arif, a Kazakhstan-born former Soviet official who drew on bottomless sources of money from the former Soviet republic; and Felix Sater, a Russian-born businessman who had pleaded guilty in the 1990s to a huge stock-fraud scheme involving the Russian mafia. Bayrock partnered with Trump in 2005 and poured money into the Trump organization under the legal guise of licensing his name and property management.
Semion Mogilevich was the brains behind the Russian Mafia. Mogilevich operatives have been using Trump real estate for decades to launder money. That means Russian Mafia operatives have been part of his fortune for years, that many of them have owned condos in Trump Towers and other properties, that they were running operations out of Trump's crown jewel. (Mogilevich's role today is unclear).
One of the most important things that is often overlooked is that the Russia Mafia is part and parcel of Russian intelligence. Russia is a mafia state. that is not a metaphor. Putin is head of the Mafia. So the fact that they have been operating out of the home of the president of the United States is deeply disturbing.
From Craig Unger's AMA: "Early on, a source told me that all this was tied to Semion Mogilevich, the powerful Russian mobster. I had never even heard of him, but I immediately went to a database that listed the owners of all properties in NY state and looked up all the Trump properties. Every time I found a Russian sounding name, I would Google, and add Mogilevich. When you do investigative reporting, you anticipate drilling a number of dry holes, but almost everyone I googled turned out to be a Russian mobster. Again and again. If you know New York you don't expect Trump Tower to be a high crime neighborhood, but there were far too many Russian mobsters in Trump properties for it to be a coincidence."
So many Russians bought Trump apartments at his developments in Florida that the area became known as Little Moscow. The developers of two of his hotels were Russians with significant links to the Russian mob. The late leader of that mob in the United States, Vyacheslav Kirillovich Ivankov, was living at Trump Tower.
According to a Bloomberg investigation (March 16, 2017) into Trump World Tower, which broke ground in 1998, “a third of units sold on floors 76 through 83 by 2004 involved people or limited liability companies connected to Russia and neighboring states.”
Here is the most prominent example: In July 2008, the height of the recession, Donald Trump sold a mansion in Palm Beach for $95 million to Dmitry Rybolovlev, a Russian oligarch. Trump had purchased it four years earlier for $41.35 million. The sale price was nearly $54 million more than Trump had paid for the property. Again, this was the height of the recession when all other property had plummeted in value.
As an example of the Russian mob operating out of Trump Tower, in 2013, Federal agents busted an “ultraexclusive, high-stakes, illegal poker ring” run by Russian gangsters out of Trump Tower. In addition to card games, they operated illegal gambling websites, ran a global sports book and laundered more than $100 million. A condo directly below one owned by Trump reportedly served as HQ for a “sophisticated money-laundering scheme” connected to Semion Mogilevich.
It has been widely known for decades that Russia often used videotaped "honey traps" to compromise influential visitors. General Oleg Kalugin, former head of counterintelligence for the KGB, told Craig Unger (Author, "House of Trump, House of Putin") they probably did this with Trump during his visit to Russia in 1987--long before the events in the Steele dossier. "I can't tell what is inside Trump's mind, but everyone who traveled to Russia knew this."
Rudy Giuliani famously prosecuted the Italian mob while he was a federal prosecutor, yet the Russian mob was allowed to thrive under his tenure in the Southern District and Mayor. And now he's deeply entwined in the business of Trump and Russian oligarchs. Giuiani appointed Semyon Kislin to the NYC Economic Development Council in 1990, and the FBI described Kislin as having ties tot he Russian mob. Of course, it made good political sense for Giuliani to get headlines for smashing the Italian mob.
A lot of Republicans in Washington are implicated. Boatloads of Russian money went to the GOP--often in legal ways. The NRA got as much as $70M from Russia, then funneled it to the GOP. The Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee lead by McConnel got millions from Leonard Blavatnik. The big white shoe law firms--Jones Day, for example-- represent powerful Russian oligarchs who have billions and billions of dollars. Much of this is legal even though it appears to have compromised huge parts of the GOP. Unger's book alleges that most of the GOP leadership has been compromised by RU money. In the 90s, the Russians began sending money to top GOP leaders, like Speaker of the House Tom Delay.
At the Cityscape USA’s Bridging US and the Emerging Real Estate Markets Conference held in Manhattan, on September 9, 10, and 11, 2008, Trump Jr. was frank about the tide of Russian money supporting the family business, saying "...And in terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets."
Eric Trump told James Dodson, a golf reporter, in 2014 that the Trump Organization was able to expand during the financial crisis because “We don’t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.”
Trump's first wife, Ivana, was under surveillance by the STB, the Czech secret police, and they reported to the KGB. Ivana got out of Communist Czechoslovakia in the 70s which was not easy to do.
Regarding the Steele dossier, while not everything in the dossier has been corroborated, some of it has and none of it has been disproven. Christopher Steele has a terrific reputation in the intelligence world. For reference, Jeb Bush's opposition research included paying a US based intelligence firm (GPS Fusion), who reached out to Steele. This same intelligence firm was later hired by Clinton during her campaign. All of this was above-board and verifiable.
At the end of 2018, Putin and his allies started making a strong push for a resolution that would justify their country’s 1979 invasion and reverse an 1989 vote backed by Mikhail Gorbachev that condemned it. The Putinists’ goal was to pass the resolution by Feb. There is no one on this side of the Atlantic who thinks the USSR was justified in invading Afghanistan. And out of nowhere, on January 2nd, Trump came out strongly supporting Russia's 1979 invasion of Afghanistan.
We don't know who may be prosecuted with Deutsche Bank, but Russian money laundering is a huge part of this and how they compromised Trump. Trump was $4 billion in debt and the Russians bailed him out. They own him.
I'm in disbelief at seemingly how long trump has been involved in russian money laundering without consequences.
When the people that write the laws are themselves on the receiving end of endless amounts of money, laws are very much only for poor people
I still think Cohen is only partially cooperating.
I'm anxiously awaiting his live Q&A session with Congress. I don't know what to expect, but I wouldn't be surprised if he doubles back in an effort to clear trump or laying the ground work to put something out there to sway or give a heads up to some potential witnesses.
Maybe he is going to do what he says and it's just going to be an onslaught of info and incriminating corroborations -- granted any and all questions asked have been cleared by Mueller, but it's live they have mics and cameras, so who knows
Last I saw they are not going to ask or talk about anything Russia related during the public hearings.
During the public part of it. I heard they will still be able to question him regarding Russia, but as it’s clearly part of an ongoing investigation, that part of Cohen’s testimony will be behind closed doors to the public.
And frankly,I think we’ll still get enough spicy info from the public stuff to be satisfied.
Rudy Giuliani famously prosecuted the Italian mob while he was a federal prosecutor, yet the Russian mob was allowed to thrive under his tenure in the Southern District and Mayor.
Rudy was taking out the competition and building his reputation in one go.
You know what’s strange and “coincidental”. Guiliani also attempted to run for President in 2008.

More fun facts
His twitter attacks on Montenegro shortly after Montenegro joined NATO, which pissed Putin off because he always viewed Montenegro as a potential Russian naval base, plus he viewed it as the last remaining way of Russia reaching Serbia by sea. Plus there was a failed coup in Montenegro organized by Russia on the day of crucial elections in MN.
In short I doubt Trump even knew that MN exists before somebody told him to be very specific in his tweets.
Trump fired Tomahawks at empty warehouses plus gave Assad and Russians plenty of time to pull Assad's jets and other crucial equipment to safety of Russian naval base. Source: Just check sub related to Syrian civil war, everybody there were laughing their asses off when Assad repaired airfields and rolled jets back in days after Trump claimed he wiped out Assad's capability to deliver chemical weapons.
Second time Trump decided to fire Tomahawks he just repeated the scenario.
In short he fired 100s of Tomahawks on prearranged targets.
It is more than likely that Russia influenced the result to some extent. Anyway brexit aside, Putin and agent Orange oddly share hobby of trying to break EU apart.
Source: I live in EU and we've been dealing with Putin's Manchurian candidates long before Trump became president.
I believe we need to stop simply considering how Trump’s actions will affect the United States. The media need to seriously start reporting on how Trump’s actions benefit Russian interests as well, particularly when yesterday’s report comes out a day after reports of an FBI agent group warning that the shutdown threatens national security. Trump’s excuse for this shutdown, for instance, is so poor that it’s probably not a coincidence.
He has been belligerently dismantling American institutions and sabotaging the global economy from day one. So blatantly in fact that the best argument against this is that "If it truly was his intention he wouldn't make it so obvious". I half expect him to hold a press conference and ask the American people "What do I have to do to be removed from office? I've tried everything!"
Even IF you were crazy enough to still support Trump or play devil's advocate for him...HE claims it was the Democrats that colluded with Russia. Okay, if that were true then you as President should do SOMETHING about that. Either way, Russia is the problem. Why wouldn't Trump launch a full scale investigation into the democratic party if he really believed that to be true. And send a strong message to Russia about them meddling in US affairs. He's so full of shit
HE claims it was the Democrats that colluded with Russia.
I've learned so much about psychology through this Trump Presidency. If you've committed treason, just say your opponent did it. 40% of America will believe you.
"The Trump campaign did not commit collusion, but also there's nothing wrong with collusion anyway, BUT besides that, it's the Democrats who actually committed collusion so prosecute THEM."
I've learned so much about propaganda and doublespeak these past couple years. The atrocities of history and the susceptibility of the average person suddenly all make sense. All you have to do is deny, deflect, and stop treating words as if they have meaning. Everything matters, as well as nothing matters, all at once.
And for the rest of us, it's an exhausting form of torture watching reality not only be run by a lunatic, but witnessing seemingly normal people come out as fellow inmates in the asylum. The "crazy pills" joke from Zoolander hardly makes me laugh anymore, because that is life now.
You’re spot on. I literally had a TDer tell me yesterday that Trump never would have picked manafort to run his campaign if there was russian collusion because it would be too obvious.
Edit: Here’s the comment.
The biggest connection is that Manafort worked in Ukrainian elections, but if Trump was a Russian Spy and needed to hide it, why would they pick someone to run his campaign with such open ties to Russia? How would that even benefit them? Why not just hire any talented campaign manager who can get your spy elected?
I'm afraid that next week's spin will be. "Obviously our dear leader was working with Russian intelligence... AS A DOUBLE AGENT! Stupid libs blew his cover!"
I love how the guy is admitting that his support for Trump is based on how Trump is too stupid to be a Russian asset.
“At least he’s not Hillary.” Fucking idiots.
russians played the long game, and damn has it turned into an impressive return on their investment. they have an asset occupying the white house working against the interests of americans
Not to mention for two years a majority in the House and Senate and still control the Senate, and of course the U.S. Supreme Court.
And don't forget this was all done with strong support from all the media but especially Fox News, WSJ, and all those radio and television stations owned and controlled conservative owners. *(don/done)
The so called MSM has given equal time (more than 80%) of their time to the people who attack and discredit the investigation so don't call them neutral.
To be fair every GOP politician works against the interests of Americans. They haven't worked in the interests of their country or it's people in decades.
Edit: I accidentally a word.
A lot of the GOP gets a lot of campaign money from the NRA who, in turn, apparently gets a lot of money from Russia. Some Republicans, presumably, cut out the middle man and just go right to Russia directly.
Russia has been doing this for the last 80+ years
And yet despite the fact that the other guy has literally been throwing Rock for the last 1,000 matches, we keep throwing scissors and acting shocked, shocked! that they threw Rock.
It hurts my brain that most of the country still pretends as though this is implausible, or even that it was a surprise this happened.
Trump has been obviously compromised by, or problematically intertwined with Russia for three decades. Russia has been doing the same bullshit for many more decades. These are grossly obvious realities. They're backed up by glaringly obvious facts and behaviors. It does not take a brilliant intelligence analyst to see all of this.
This whole thing is a train wreck at ten miles an hour. We've watched a hundred-car train drive over a cliff car by car by car and gasped each time a new car smashed into the canyon floor.
Most trump supporters were the same people who were insanely paranoid about the 'goddamn reds' during the cold war. They've somehow forgotten that Putin was a Lieutenant Colonel in the KGB and for a large part of his working life, his enemies who he actively, professionally worked against were the US and the UK.
Suddenly they seem to have forgotten this. But Putin hasn't.
You know they fed him false intelligence and let the Russians act on it.... just to confirm.
Remember that beating those Russian troops took when they engaged that US base? I forget the details. I cant help but think that was a result of this false intel.
Wait, Russian troops recently engaged with American troops? When was this?
They were "unaffiliated mercenaries" I think was the term. Like the Russian version of Erik Prince
A 2018 U.S. airstrike (an airstrike which is part of Operation Inherent Resolve) killed russian military contractors in syria. The Wagner group contractors train at the same russian federation base where the Spetsnaz train. They are trained by russian federation officers.
They were flown to syria on russian federation military transport aircraft. They used russian federation tanks and artillery, and a russian built bridge to cross the Euphrates river to attack the U.S. held position near a petroleum processing plant.
And the Russian that gave the order to attack the U.S. base is none other than Yevgeny Prighozin. He is Putin's right hand man and was indicted by Special Counsel Mueller. Prigozhin controls Russian mercenaries fighting in Syria and gave the order to attack American soldiers in early 2018.
Who is Russian oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin and how sophisticated was Russia's election interference?
In 2018 Special Counsel Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and 3 Russian entities for election interference. The Russian election meddling operation was a sophisticated attack against the West. This operation was funded through Russian fronts including a catering company run by a close friend of Putin, Yevgeny Prigozhin. They used stolen American identities. Operatives bought political ads on social media sites. Operatives visited the United States, traveled across 9 states and discussed escape routes if they were caught inside the country. Operatives bought equipment including burner phones and SIM cards. The operation included hundreds of employees and millions of dollars. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein put it best - the Russians conducted information warfare during the election. According to Mueller's indictment Prigozhin met Mikhail Bystrov, a leader of the Internet Research Agency (IRA) regularly in 2015 and 2016. Prigozhin funded the Internet Research Agency and their meddling of the American election. This was a sophisticated operation that spanned over several years. Prigozhin has been Putin's go to guy for under the table missions, including recruiting mercenaries for the conflicts in Ukraine and Syria.
Last February, Pro-Assad forces attacked a Syrian base that had special forces working there, and the US obliterated them in response. They were in constant contact with a Russian liason and were assured that no Russian troops were there. Except then it's revealed that Russian PMCs from the Wagner Group were likely among the 100 killed (out of a force of 500). It's a sorta-common? belief that Wagner Group is secretly a Russian military unit so they can be in conflicts without setting off a war.
They were not “official” Russian troops. Russian nationals fighting with Russias allies in Syria.
Kinda like how we use private mercenaries so we can pretend we have less people fighting and dying.
We're going to throw paper any minute now, in the form of subpoenas and Mueller's report.
Something I think Americans sometimes miss: what Russia lacks in more traditional military and economic power, it makes up for in espionage and information warfare. Russia doesn't have an enormous fleet of cutting-edge aircraft carriers. What they do have is a pretty well-educated citizenry - actually one of the most literate populations in the world. The sophistication of their troll operation points to that. They needed a lot of people with strong language and tech skills, as well as a good understanding of politics, history and culture in other countries.
alt right leader richard spencer's wife: russian
one america news network owner robert herring sr.'s wife: russian
papadopolous's wife: likely russian
No, Papadopoulos' wife is merely Italian female who speaks the English with most premium Russian accent.
An Italian wife who “if shes Italian she was just born there, her family isn’t Italian” kind of Italian, who speaks with a Russian accent, that he met in Israel through a guy considered a Russian spy, who used to work as a Diplomat at the European Parliament, who the Special Counsel believes is a Russian asset and has now been accused of doctoring passport photos.
That’s his wife.
Oh yeah. Russia has a long history of deploying "illegals", i.e Russians with stolen identities that pose as other nationals. Lawfare podcast has a great episode on the illegals practice with two former CIA agents. Link here:
Is there a list somewhere of people Russia targeted like this? With the interest in politics bit, I'd be very curious if anyone else they targeted has since attained some political power.
Giuliani may have also been compromised around the same time.
Giuliani also gained his good prosecutorial rep largely on helping put the NYC Italian mob out of business.
Want to guess who immediately filled that organized crime power vacuum?
The Russian mob.
I wonder if we'll learn one day that he knowingly helped clear the field for them.
Giuliani is deeply connected to Trump/Russia from the beginning
Giuliani once worked for Ed Cox's law firm in the 80's (1). Ed Cox, Richard Nixon's son-in-law, later introduced Carter Page to Donald Trump's campaign manager at the time, Corey Lewandowski in 2015 (2). In 2005, Giuliani joined Bracewell & Giuliani, an oil and gas lobbying firm, and represented Ed Cox's Nobel Energy (3).
During the 90's, Giuliani developed a close relationship with Bernard Kerik, eventually naming him the "top cop" of New York. After Giuliani suggested Kerik as Bush's secretary of Homeland Security, Kerik's mob ties spilled out (4). At Kerik's word, the mob-run Interstate Industrial hired his buddy, Lawrence Ray, who later testified against Kerik (5).
Lawrence Ray worked closely with the Russian mob, as well, particularly Felix Sater. The two were involved in a stock pump-in-dump scheme that ultimately led to a guilty plea by Sater. They worked so closely together, in fact, that the FBI sent Ray to Russia in an attempt to trick Sater into returning to the US so they could charge him (6). In 2015, the FBI agent that worked to charge Felix Sater was hired by Donald Trump (6).
In Aug 2001, Kerik flew to Israel and met with Israeli billionaire Eitan Wertheimer, who had been pushing a Marshall Plan of the Middle East since the 90's (7). In Dec that same year, Giuliani borrowed Donald Trump's plane and flew to Israeli as well (8). Two months later, after stepping down as Mayor, Giuliani formed Giuliani partners with Kerik. In 2003, while working in Iraq, Kerik received a loan from Wertheimer that he failed to document (7). Michael Flynn would later forward an email from a past business partner describing a plan referred to as "Trump/Putin M.E. [Middle East] Marshall Plan," and forwarded it to Trump to be made policy (14).
The following year, Giuliani gained client Triglobal, a company that connects US firms to Russia, and arranged for Giuliani to meet with Russia's Minster of Foreign Affair Sergey Lavrov (9). At the time, "top spy of spies and recruiter of spies" Sergey Kislyak worked directly under Lavrov as Deputy Minster of Foreign Affairs (10). Jared Kushner would later meet Kislyak at a meeting hosted by the Center for the National Interest (15), part run by Ed Cox and his wife, Tricia Nixon-Cox (16). The Center's president, Dmitri Simes, is friends with Vladimir Putin (17).
In February 2013, Giluani met with Russian pop star, Emin Agalarov (11), who's father would later host Trump at Miss Universe in Moscow 2013 in August (12). It was Emin's publicist who arranged for Don Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort to meet with Russian agent Natalia Veselnitskaya at the infamous Trump Tower meeting (13).
I have no doubts Giuliani is a mob lawyer
There is a list of republican congressmen who spent 2018 4th of July holiday in Russia. All congressmen go home on the 4th to walk in their local parades, eat a hot dog and drink a coke with their consultants, celebrate freedom.
Which is why he is losing his shit on Twitter.
Dude is an open book.
What the fuck is he talking about Democrats on vacation?
Democrats were urging Republicans to stay over the weekend to get the government back up.
Republicans went home.
He's blatantly lying so his base has something to grasp.
I really wish the Dems stayed in Washington as I thought one of them said they would. The optics of Dems trying to work to fix it while the Republicans left would’ve been perfect.
He doesn't care if people like us believe him or not.
His 30%+ base believes everything.
He's not talking to us. He can't give less of a shit if we yell from the mountaintops that he's a liar. His base will believe him, not us.
His 30%+ base believes everything
Because they get their news from sources that lie to them. Fox, Brietbart, Hannity, Limbaugh, Ingraham, Coulter.
They don't fact check. They don't question. They don't seek alternate news sources. They don't expose themselves to opposing viewpoints.
When Trump is indicted, they're going to be very surprised, because they won't have seen it coming. Their biased media will not have prepared them.
He doesn't even know at this point man.
Throwing mud anywhere and hoping it sticks
Shitty part is, the media laps up half his bullshit. He tries to detract, and it drives me crazy that it actually works.
Plus it works on his supporters. The rest of us COULD ignore it or just put a quick 2 minute fillef like we do the weather.
"and conditions on twitter today started quiet in the morning, with a few scattered tweets, but we're following the storm and predict it could get real shitty by late afternoon. If you'll be online, be sure to take an umbrella"
"Elections have consequences"
Does he realise he is quoting Obama?
Someone should tell him he's quoting Obama.
lol I just woke up haven't seen his twitter yet.. I always kind of dread looking at his twitter, but I've got to know what the Orange Idiot is freaking out about this time.
Off I go, wish me luck!
My favorite line so far from today, he is talking about the shutdown and says "elections have consequences!" Consequence. A word usually used to describe the result of a bad choice or action. He just described himself getting elected as a consequence.
He's trying to co-opt any positive message the Democrats have, while simultaneously trying to saddle them with the blame for what Republicans have done.
Just like anyone against him is a Democrat (even if they're a registered republican). He's basically declaring that half the country is "the opposition party."
Great job President Suck.
He's talking to his base and keeping the fire stoked. Nothing he says anymore has any use for anybody who's not a hardcore supporter. He gave up long ago on the idea that anybody would 'come over' or 'walk away' from the left and become Trump supporters.
It’s been 6 min... you ok, friend?
God why did I do that?
Now I just want to bang my head on my desk until I'm ready to go back to sleep for the next 2 years.
This guy has tweeted 13 times since 7 this morning!. Who TF has time to do that?
It's easy when you only work for 3-4 hours a day, you've fired or chased off nearly everybody who would put papers on your desk, and the whole country is underfunded and can't produce more work for you to do as a result.
His whole workday right now is probably wake up, check to see if they've funded his wall yet, then clock off and tweet and pout the rest of the day.
I mean non-assets don’t insist on a private meeting with Putin with no press or witnesses. Just sayin.
He had a meeting with a Russian diplomat right after the inauguration. Only Russia media was allowed.
Let’s not forget that be fired Comey the day before the meeting with the Russians in the Oval Office. Literally the day before.
The Senators who are responsible for keeping this man in power should be brought to justice.
Surely McConnell and Ryan know. Those motherfuckers abeted and enabled him just to get judges and tax breaks.
Nunes went through all the hoops he went precisely because of this, because he saw the intel and the reports.
Fuck the GOP.
The whole party is fucked right to its core.
It is well within the realm of possibility that Russians used blackmail, bribes, or perhaps just simple flattery to help shape his thinking on world affairs.
The last one. It's the last one.
If found guilty of being an asset, would this constitute as treason?
Espionage. Treason is just for wartime.
Trump, who lies constantly, is claiming everyone else is lying and he's the only one telling the truth. Meanwhile, he's practically screaming "Hail Putin!" and his cult doesn't even care.
His cult would rather be Russians than Democrats so they already have abandoned any pretense of patriotism or any care for the United States anyway.
Russia is very white and hates the gays. That's something I think they can identify with.
his cult doesn't even care
It seems most of them think one of two things, that trump is innocent and he's being attacked by a deep state or that trump needed russias help to defeat evil Hillary. They've already rationalized his guilt
Most of his people are religious fundamentalists. Accepting reality isn't what these folks do.
It seems clear the answer is "no shit" to whether he is a Russian Asset. The question now is just how deep this goes, e.g. actively working to advance the Russian's agenda in return for political and financial favors or even outright old fashioned Benedict Arnold style traitorism.
The bigger question is when are all these traitors going to be removed from power. Yeah, Trump is a Russian asset who has spent the last 2 years weakening the country and yet he's still there with no end in sight.
Can't the FBI just arrest a bunch of Republican Senators en masse? They're not above the law.
Right? We hear nothing about all of these other Republican congressmen who have not only failed to investigate, but have been defending Trump the entire way and some even gone out of their way to distract and obstruct. They’ve held partisan “meetings” in Russia, where they won’t let Democrats join. They have admitted messengers, aka Rand Paul, delivering letters personally for Trump. I’m not in the /r/conspiracy game, but these are serious situations that require serious questions. None of this is normal or routine.
it's sad that the best outcome of all this is that the man is so incompetent that he doesn't even realize he's being played.
think about that for a second. that's the best scenario here -- that the country elected a man so incompetent that he is moving an agenda of a hostile nation by accident.
worst case is as you said -- Benedict Arnold-style literal treason.
I think one of the questions they're alleged to have been looking into from get go was whether or not Trump was working deliberately, or was a useful idiot of sorts. Mueller came in after that point. It might even be the reason a special counsel was appointed in the first place.
But it would seem like the question was always how deep this went, even above Trump's alleged involvement. Trump may have only ever been a very prominent offshoot of a much larger investigation.
Did Russia just win the cold war and shut down the U.S. government?
Apparently yes. Also destaffed the Whitehouse and destabilized the populace. Oh and added trillions in debt to the economy. And probably so much more we are not yet aware off. Didn't they hack into the power grid?
I hope i live to see the history books written on this era.
I'm wondering how many Russian assets we have in Congress, lobbying businesses, RNC, etc.
Mitch Mcnonell for sure
This is why getting money out of politics is so important. When money is driving it, then no wonder politicians get compromised and no longer serving Americans.
Spoiler Alert: Trump is a Russian asset - always has been.
Ahhh the old Manafort-Redaction
This is probably really immature thinking on my thought, politically, but if it turns out Donald Trump was compromised by the Russians, or was essentially a Russian spy, why should that not invalidate every single Supreme Court appointment, executive order, and piece of legislature he has signed off on?
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 96%. (I'm a bot)
Mueller is Investigating Trump as a Russian Asset Friday night, the New York Times published a bombshell report that the FBI has been investigating whether President Trump "Had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests." The story reframes the focus and purpose of the investigation now headed by Robert Mueller.
The probe is not just about Russian election interference, or about Trump's obstruction of the probe - it is about the secret relationship between Trump and Russia that appears to be causing both these things to happen.
The relationship between Trump and Putin did not merely rest on their mutual interest in the Trump campaign defeating Clinton, but indicates some deeper connection.
Who was it that came out of an interview with Mueller saying "Mueller knows everything"... ??
Mueller has had access to NSA Intel for previous cases, i would be surprised if Mueller didnt have it given most of these clowns had worse OPsec than when I used to buy weed online
I am absolutely sure that Mueller has been given information through back channels since the beginning.
One of Obama's last moves was allowing intelligence agencies to share intel. He knew, that's some real 4d chess
He doesn't need to go through back channels, he can walk right through the front door and keep everything nice and legal
Multiple people have made a comment to that effect, and never in a relieved "sounds like we're totally exonerated" kinda way. More like a "Holy fucking shit someone is going down for this" kinda way.
Thank you for those links. That shit right there is top-notch SFW porn.
That was Michael Cohen.
I hear #Prague #CzechRepublic is beautiful in the summertime. I wouldn’t know as I have never been. #Mueller knows everything!
I thought it was Michael Caputo, who said after his Mueller interview, "It was awful...They know more about the Trump campaign than anyone who ever worked there."
I love the whining about how much it costs to defend yourself from a targeted investigation. Can we get a photoshop of one of those "You can't afford a DUI" billboards?
Can't afford the lawyers for your lawyers? Don't commit crimes through multi-leveled felony conspiracies.
This is what Brennan has been tweeting about all this time and why Trump revoked his security clearance.
Also why Trump fired McCabe.
Fuckin A. Fucking A. Never in my life before 2016 did I think this type of shit could happen in the US.
What are the chances Putin gives Trump his marching orders through Fox News?
I am looking at you, you motherfucking Republicans. You all know this. You’ve seen the intel, the proof, the facts and the evidence. Yet you do nothing because of judges, abortion and taxes, and some even because they’re in cahoots with Trump.
He’s still president because enough of them won’t do the right thing and convict him in a Senate trail. And by extension, all their constituents that don’t put pressure on them.
So fucking tangerine man is also the Siberian candidate.
Let us remember who were the coconspirators to this traitor. Names like Giuliani and Sarah Huckleberry and Cruella-Ann Conway. And Fox News. And as a group, Trump degenerate supporters in general.
Blacklisted for life.
Dont forget Pence, never forget that Pence was hand picked by Manafort. Notice that while Trump screams Pence is silent. Pence is just as culpable as the rest of them only he is "smarter" and keeps his mouth shut.
Honestly I feel like Pence would sell everyone out in a second if he could work a deal for his own freedom. Probably why he's being quiet.
Can anyone possibly imagine the response the Republicans would have if this was Obama or Clinton? I literally cannot fathom the extent of meltdown they would have. But with Trump.... crickets. They say nothing. Or worse, still defend him.
More like Mueller has been investing Trump as a Russian asset. This is what's been redacted from everything Mueller has released this far. It's why his investigation has taken it's time compiling evidence. The shit is about to hit the fan and I'm so excited. (I literally had a dream about Mueller last night, but he was on tour in the near future talking about how he brought down the president)
If it wasn't for his job title, Trump would just be some mid level schmuck in Putin's crime family.
We’ve been reading these stories for two years now. We’ve had a serious FBI turned SC investigation for over two years. Aside from some small details here or there, none of the evidence and information we’ve received has been refuted. The best defense the right has is that the investigators are “biased” and the entire Justice Departments of two separate administrations are all a part of a massive conspiracy to make donald trump look bad. It’s true none of us know exactly what happened and how much it directly implicates trump. But at this point it’s impossible to look at this and say there’s nothing there. It’s impossible to look at this and say it’s all a pizzagate/birther hoax.
Our pissbitch president spent all morning tweeting demented garbage and his remaining aids have "put the lid on" - - no public events for our special boy, the Stable Genius.
This season of The Americans is pretty crazy.
The Americans couldn’t come up with this shit.
Tarantino, Spielberg, James Patterson, Gillian Flynn, Fincher and Iñarritu together could not come up with a script to rival this reality.
Agreed. This is not a white collar crime which we will allow a rich traitor off with less of a sentence than a poor dude.
