That's a lot of professional pearl clutchers in the background.
Well I NEVER!
Winston, fetch the smelling salts
Well maybe you should!
(Full disclosure: just last night I told my wife I wished more people would set me up for some of my favorite retorts and this one was at the top of the list so I thank you for that.)
When you don't have anything real to worry about so you make something up edit: *have to
I love Daniel Tosh's quote "This is what I say to the most conservative person that's so terrified of gay marriage becoming legal. Just because the state says it's legal, it's not like God's going to let them into Heaven. So you can still sleep sound every night knowing that goal line defense is up at the pearly gates."
The migrant terrorists are coming for your jobs
Oh, nicely put!
More like a lot of repressed pearl flickers!
Looks like that pikachu :o meme
The lady on the right with the secret smile.
"well... That doesn't seem that bad.."
"Maybe I could try it someday."
"But until then, God hates gays!"
"Oh I'm terribly sorry but there seem to have been a slight error made in the translation of that particular passage. You see, what it actually says is 'God hates James May.' Yes, all the hubbub has been a tragic miscommunication but I'm sure if you review the subject matter carefully that you'll arrive unerringly at the same conclusion."
I knew it. Fucking James May every time.
It's his blasphemous rejection of the all mighty speed.
Heresy! God can't help but love Capt. Slow.
Username does not check out
I read that as a repressed opinion smile.
Like a mom when she says "well, it's your life" and goes back to her angry dishwashing.
You missed the young girl directly above that is staring hungrily, reminiscing about band camp.
Yeah, THAT smile is the one you see on someone least likely to change their mind ever. it's a confidence in their own knowledge and rightness
Jeeze, I know that one from wife too. I chose to read it as a fond memory triggered by the observation. "I kissed a girl and I liked it!"
“If that’s wrong, I don’t want to be right.”
Coming from a conservative background, I read that as a haughty, disdainful, full of herself & her opinions smile/smirk. I've seen something similar plenty of times and it wasn't positive context.
Ahhhhhh the "Bless your heart" smile.
Yeah, that's the "You're gonna get what's coming." smile that comes from every holier-than-thou bitch who is going to go out of her way to say the nastiest shit she can behind your back.
And the out of focus old ladies gasping
I'm sure that at least a few ladies in the audience got a bit of a tingle watching this
“Where is the manager?”
A crowd of Karens
I believe it's a gaggle of Karens
... it is obviously a Complaint of Karens.
Here's a virtual virtual gold sir. (I'm broke.)
Don't worry, I promise this means as much to me as any other kind of gold.
A murder of Karens
They all totally have the “Let me speak to your manager” haircut.
Evelyn: "Harold! You'll never believe what these two young hussies did today at our gathering - they kissed each other! Right there in front of everybody!"
Harold: "Now just slow down a minute. You told that way too fast. First, what were they wearing...?"
"That's awful, Evelyn, AWFUL! You don't happen to have a video of it, so I can see, myself, just how blasphemous that juicy kiss was?"
“PICS OR IT DIDN’T HAPPEN EVELYN”
I just want you to know that this would be 41% less funny without the word "juicy". Trust me, I ran the numbers.
The best part is that these two weren't even a couple.
Interviewed by French gay magazine Têtu the two young women explained they are both straight, but wanted to draw attention to the issue with a pure and simple gesture of solidarity.
Just like when Michael kissed Oscar
Yes. Just like that.
I did it....!
And we’re all still here
As someone who has never seen The Office. I thought very hard and long to try and remember the episode where Michael Bluth kissed his uncle.
Hahaha I've seen the office but still thought this
Poor Dwigt, he wanted but he couldn’t
Not sure if typo or reference to Threat Level Midnight script
"Michael, we don't need to..."
"Yes we do."
Now the question stands... are they really straight anymore?
Spaghetti is straight until it gets wet.
It’s not the water. It’s the heat. Essentially the spaghetti is straight until the burning fire from hell slowly heats up the anti-baptismal water and corrupts the pure pasta into a the perilous, homosexual, hell-bound pasta that we consume as gluttonous sinners.
Wow, TIL. Theology is complicated stuff.
now, lemme tell you about transubstantiation and why catholics aren't cannibals
It's been 40 minutes and there is no reply from /u/cantlurkanymore
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
i do have a job i do sometimes, but to make it quick - Christians either believe that the bread and wine literally becomes jesus' body and blood and the bread and wine is gone, or they believe that it is bread and wine at the same time as jesus' body and blood.
If you say transubstantiation is cannibalism, you will be reminded that jesus was divinity made flesh, and so you aren't eating human, you're eating divinity!
My step dad is a Master of Divinity. Fucker never uses Divine Intervention though.
Are you asking whether the two women spawned an infectious virus of homosexuality through kissing or awoke the evil that had been lying dormant within them? Perhaps all the onlookers are now all afflicted having seen it, like some homosexual Bird Box style epidemic.
If the goal was for everyone to wear white and look haggard, all those women accomplished that.
I've just noticed whenever I see the word "solidarity", it's always about the French.
The word harkens back to the old labor and socialist movements not just in France. The idea is that there are two classes and all members of the lower, much larger class must refuse to be divided by race, geography, Creed, etc.
Unity in resistance.
It's time for the L-word.
The other L-word.
All of these women in the background look like they would like to speak to your manager.
The looks of surprise and disgust on some of those peoples faces make me feel exactly the same about them.
The protesters appear to be 100% all women. Why?
It was a protest in France. Men were at one side of the square, women on the other side and in the middle there was someone in this extremely cringy costume that was supposed to symbolize the child. The "child" would trip and be supported by each side, as a symbol of the supposed need for a child to have a mother and a father.
It was funnier than the yellow vests.
A weak display if you ask me. It fails to demonstrate how a pair of women or a pair of men would be incapable of supporting a tripping child.
It shows there's no substance to their argument, and it's a weak attempt of them to try to tell other people how to live their lives in such a way that doesn't even affect them whatsoever. It's pathetic top to bottom.
Going by my own personal experiences with my extended family, older women tend to be the most judgmental group of people. Probably because they were raised to "act like a lady" and that mentality has become stuck in their head as they've gotten older. But that's just my best guess.
"I had to deal with it, so you have to as well!"
I'm amazed they're so thoroughly brainwashed.
That mindset is a general issue for everyone. It's the main reason why certain changes to education are so difficult, like starting times. Once people struggle through something traumatic and succeed they often believe other people should have that same struggle. Part of "earning it." Hazing, college debt, standardized tests, etc are other good examples. I see it alot in gaming culture as well.
I'm not saying it's right, just saying that everyone can fall into that mindset.
I think it’s also because people don’t like feeling ripped off.
So when you’ve gotten a shitty deal, seeing the kids get to go to school at 10 feels bad. It’s not fair. You had to struggle, and they get the same results easier? They must be not as good. Not “real” students (ladies).
Just writing that, thinking about kids actually not starting school until much later, I already felt myself going “pffft, back in my day” and that’s bullshit.
Good things are good. Unfairness is hard. But a way of life.
That's a great example, and I kind of identify with it as well. There is a real feeling that other people should be subjected to the same challenges I faced, otherwise it almost invalids my own struggles. But really there's no reason for someone to deal with the same things I did and if we can improve the next generations life then we should.
Yep, the promotion of sexism happens from both genders, even if they're victims of it.
They don't see it as sexism, and don't think of themselves as victims. It's just a "back in my day young ladies had class" type of thing.
And, “I put up with it, so you should too”
Which is the mentality of most people who support laws against “victimless crimes”
Yeah but old ladies feel like they have earned the right to say whatever they want to you no matter what simply because they havent done everyone else the favor of dying yet.
I bet every single one of them are religious.
I have a gay niece. How she decide to come out was poorly handled by her, but overall the only people who cared (and/or continue to care) whether she is gay or not were the older female members of the family. Pretty much every female over 40 is upset, while everyone else doesn't care. What we've all said is it doesn't matter who she loves, as long as she is loved.
Certainly not a blanket thing though; my family has suspected my sister of being closeted gay for close to 30 years and the females (different side of the family) are the ones who have pointedly said she should just tell everyone so she would stop hiding it and being cranky about it.
40 seems really young. I'm in my mid-30s and that mindset seems so far removed from my age group.
That's a great line for these situations. I love that: "It doesn't matter who you love, as long as ARE loved." Well said.
Straight guys like it, gay guys don't care, asexual guys aren't interested
I mean, loads of straight guys hate gay men. This is probably some kind of women’s club.
Even some weird ones, like my dad, are homophobic of gay women as well. He’s liberal with just about everything except homosexuality, that one was beaten into his head pretty hard apparently.
Yeah, every woman whose face you can see clearly looks like the most miserable, frustrated person you'd ever want to meet. (Except the one second from the right on the bottom who's smiling to herself)
These same people can carry on a casual conversation while a news channel reports on genocide in the background. But two same sex humans touch lips and they lose their shit. Strange world we live in.
Reminds me of the Pikachu meme
Old woman with white hair to the left literally has that expression.
any idea of the date for this picture?
It first showed up here 6 years ago and has been popping up ever since. Some of the titles say 2012. http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/11zbip/lesbian_couple_kisses_in_front_of_a_antigay/
Some say this picture has always existed, predating humanity itself.
Some say that they're still kissing to this day.
I confirm: 2012, when France was debating the right for gays to marry and those schmocks were protesting against it, but «hey, we're not homophobic !». Right...
And guess what! That kiss between those two women did absolutely no harm to those protesters, their personal relationship with their God or their kids, or their marriages.
WHAT AN EVIL ACT.
And all of their marriages were immediately destroyed.
After this traumatic moment, a number of the ladies tried to get solace and comfort from their local church, but unfortunately the priest was nowhere to be found because he was busy raping a boy in the seminary.
I'm sure many people have never seen this before. Reposts often aren't a bad thing, especially if it hasn't been posted for some time. But as some of the previous threads have a lot of useful information about this image, it's worth linking to them.
For example, here is a MUCH higher quality version of this image. Here is another angle. Here is the photographer's source, in which the he provides extensive context. Credit to the photographer, Gerard Julien, who took this in Marseille France on October 23,
2014 2012. It is titled, "Le baiser de Marseille" or "The Kiss of Marseille."
Here is the GettyImages source. Per there:

How is that possible when there are reddit threads about it from 6 years ago? 🤔
Those reddit karma whores have been reposting since before the original even existed.
I'm not gay or owt but if me and my mates were walking past these sorts of people we'd be gaying it up to the max and no mistake.
Seeing something like this would finally give me an excuse to slap my handsome friend’s tight ass.
There's nothing gay about appreciating your bro's jacked oiled body
Yeah man plus you can give give each other brojobs. No homo
"I don't want to sound like a queer or nothin', but I'd kinda like to make love to you tonight"
Oh the ninties... Times were different.
I was wondering about this, I have no desire at all to snog a bloke, in fact I'd very much like to void it for the rest of my days. But if it was for a good cause like this, I'd seriously consider it before declining.
like if brad pitt tried to kiss me i would resist, but if just kept being persistant then I dont know maybe I would just go with it.
I’ve never seen so many pearls clutched at the same time.
Imagine caring what other people's sexual preferences are
Edit: spelling is hard
Regretfully, when I was barely 13 I thought it was wrong. It really only took several minutes of stopping to contemplate about it and realizing just because something doesn't come naturally to me does not make it unnatural or wrong.
Fortunately I kept my thoughts to myself at the time and grew out of it shortly after.
I was against gay marriage until I was 25 or so. Eventually I came out of the closet and now I'm happily married to another woman.
"I dunno, a bunch of guys having strong feelings about what other guys do with their dicks... seems kinda gay dontcha think?"
"OH NO TWO PEOPLE SOMEWHERE ARE BEING GAY TOGETHER THEY WILL DESTROY MY MARRIAGE!!"
I like to think that at least one of those protesters saw them and thought "I want that".
I have the strong suspicion that there are a lot of repressed lady-boners tingling in their nethers from that kiss.
Moses' wife is particularly shocked
It's so weird to imagine being genuinely, viscerally offended the way the people in tue background look. I save that look for racists, people who change lanes without signaling, or shit in the middle of the street, that sort of thing.
I don’t understand protesting same sex marriage. They’re people too and they deserve to be miserable just like us straight folk.
But blah blah bible blah blah follow my beliefs blah blah I’m saving you.
Okay boys, I'm going in.
sorts by controversial
Religion is a psychological virus.
I love how the older women appear far more disgusted than the 'younger' women by comparison.
Look at the classic demographic of this photo. And those fucking old farts blame all of sociatal problems on young generations.
Why do people care what other people do?
They’re all so offended, though. Lol will never understand why some people are always so concerned with what everyone else is doing. Smh. Worry about yourself.
