That’s like ten seconds away from liftoff.
"We don't know what's about to happen, but we're extremely enthusiastic about the possibilities!!"
"hey, hey, hey! who said you could chop of my balls!"
I’m amazed that they’re so excited. Mine just cower by my feet the entire time.
They're too young to know the bad of the vet
My six year old lab still loves the vet. He’s an idiot, tho.
Labs are the best
Yep! “YOU’RE GONNA POKE ME WITH A NEEDLE!?! OMG! BE MY FRIEND!”
Lab owner can confirm , mine goes waltzing into the vet like he owns the place, pretty sure labs dont even feel the needles though.
I was worried about getting him microchipped without anaesthesia. The vet wanted to charge a lot for it but the local animal control center did it much cheaper without anaesthesia.
We went with the animal control center and I was so worried about his pain until I saw his idiot face coming out of the procedure room, loving on everyone in sight. The tech was like, “I don’t think he felt a thing!” He thought he was just getting a bunch of attention!
Haha !! Aww thats so hillarious !! Ya im convinced mine has no idea hes getting anything done to him , he knows theres a treat for him when he leaves and thats all he cares about lol.
My old lab loved the vet. They were buds. He got so excited every time we asked him "You wanna go to the vet?" He knew the people there and his regular doctor always asked him "How's my favorite patient today?" when we came in. Followed by scritches. I think they're all in it just for the attention. And scritches don't hurt.
My pit bull was about 16-20 weeks ago when she got the microchip at a “community rabies event”. For $20. She got noodle legged and went to fall off the exam table when they poked her with it. Thankfully I was there.
TIL labs are tougher than my pit bull.
Awww! Poor thing!
I think labs are so distractible by other people or animals that they just don’t realise what’s happening. My lab will happily let the vet techs do his nails but if my husband and I try, it’s a disaster because he fights us. A stranger playing with your toes is much more tolerable in Labrador-world, I guess!
She hates people touching her feet anyway. They have to give her something to knock her out a little to trim her nails. Hence why it hasn’t been done in about 3 years. I just take her to play on concrete for a little every day so they file down a little.
I just had my 17-week-old Frenchie in for final vaccinations and microchip this morning. She has never reacted to shots at all previously, but he warned me that the needle for the microchip was much larger and asked me to keep her calm. She had peanut butter she was eating. She looked up when the needle went in, but I'm pretty sure it was only because someone whistled in the back room because she went right back to the peanut butter before we were done.
This happens to my basset when he geta his shots. Either I or the vet assistant with talk to him and pet him and the vet will stab him with thr needle. He doesn't even know its happened.
My husky/ Australian Sheppard mix absolutely loves the vet. She doesn’t like the needles, but if they pet her afterwards she doesn’t care. You can pretty much do anything you need to, as long as you pet her and talk to her.
Maybe because they're labs hehe. Get it? Laboratory?
As long as the vet keeps treats in the treatment room and on the Reception Desk, my lab vows undying love to him!
Can confirm as well, although my lady lab is one of the smartest dogs I’ve known, she can’t contain her excitement of meeting people.
"As long as you are paying attention to me during it sure"
Both of my dogs have lived the vet. The first recently passed dog loved the vet because he made the connection between vet visits and feeling better after a long struggle with liver disease from 7-14. My second dog loves the vet cause he’s a dope and they all think hes adorable
I mean, the Vet is there to help them. Maybe he's smart!
My 6 year old schnauzer was the same. She was sitting and wagging for the vet to come inside the room. Vet even commented how she's the most excited dog he's examined.
Labs love everything. Especially food.
My Aussie Mix loves the vet too. Like she loves it more than PetSmart AND the dog park. Favorite place ever.
My 8 year old mutt loves it too even after dental surgeries. She’s just a ho for attention and treats, and she gets both of those things at the Vet.
Our new puppy looks to her for everything, so he’ll likely love the Vet too. It’s going well so far.
Mine is particularly fond of this one nurse, but wants nothing to do with the vet or the other nurses. They try so hard to win him over too. :(
Is he a chocolate lab?
It surprises me how coat color seems tied to personality. Yellow grow calm and wise (to the point of lazy-asses) in their older years. Chocolate are thoroughly dumb but loveable and black are sweet but remain more energetic through life.
Depends on the dog and the vet. My beagle adores people and loves people including the vet and their techs...all the treats.
Maybe the vet smells good.
I take my dog in every month to get weighed in for his heartworm pills and he loves the vet. The trick is taking them there enough that it's not a bad thing. If you only take him there for shots then yeah he's going to associate the vet with bad things.
My family's Standard Poodle, who normally loved everybody, learned to fear the vet on the first visit.
When I take my dog to the vet he happily goes back with them as if he’s telling me to go to hell.
I have two pitbull/American bulldog mixes that love their vet. That said, they used to happily sit and get all their shots while being super excited. One of them a few years back broke a nail and the vet cut it off which hurt him. Now...now is interesting. He will excitedly run into the vets office, play with the vet, and love all over the vet. Well, until the vet has anything in his hand. Then it is me, the vet and the vet tech trying to calm him down as all 100 pounds of mass run backwards while the vet tech and I try to hold him down. He does a weird noise like when he wants on the bed but deeper, almost like he wants to growl but doesn't know how for some reason. As soon as we are done with shots or examination and let go he keeps backing up until he hits a wall or corner with his butt, looks around, and then runs back up to the vet to play. It is so freaking weird.
Our vet is also the pet rescue centre we got our dog from. He likes to visit the staff.
My parents’ pit mix goes into a mania when entering the vet’s office. She loves going!! She’s also quite a timid girl... but at the vet she loves seeing all the people! It’s pretty funny.
I read that as Piggly wigglies
I had to read it four times before my brain realized what it actually said.
I still don’t get it
Speaking of, anybody else here love the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books?
I was in the waiting room of the vet’s once and there was a huge pit bull sitting right on his owner’s lap! Poor thing looked very nervous, but his tail was still whipping against the plastic seat and it was impossible to head anything else lol
That could have been me. My guy is afraid of his own farts but just gets excited about literally anything. Fair warning: those tails hurt, keep anything delicate out of their radius.
The first two years I had my dog every picture I took of him had motion blur. (I got him around 9 months old)
You can see his tail wagging in this pic!
Pit's tails are weapons of mass destruction. I laugh every time my friend's pit destroys everything on the coffee table when she walks by.
I have to be super careful every time my lab-pit mix gets off the bed and does that wiggle with her whole body from front to back, coz if I'm behind her when that wiggle gets to the back my legs get totally bruised by her tail!
I'll take a pit tale over a Dane tail any day. Lower to the ground not as thick and don't have as much force behind them. It'll hit you in the leg and sure it's annoying but they aren't waist height or face height when sitting down.
I took in a lost dog once that turned out was a dane/pit mix...that tail hurt like a motherfucker when it practically whips you. I’m too use to soft fluffy golden retriever tails. First thing I told the owner once we found her is that his tail had left bruises all over our legs 😂
I knew of one who would hit walls and corners so hard with the wagging that her tail would bleed. She'd keep wagging and spray it everywhere!
Ours did that! For days we’d walk into a room and see blood spray and have no idea where it came from. Amazing.
I only learned of Happy Tail Syndrome being a thing here on reddit. I've never seen it in person, thank goodness. Did rescues back in the day.
Most people talk about walking into a room and feeling they walked into a murder scene. :( poor puppos.
My rescue had her tail docked before we got her, and while I'm not happy that it happened sometimes I'm a little thankful because of your exact description.
Her entire back end is now her tail though, she gets full body wigglies.
I know a pit who had to have part of her tail amputated. She was living with a hoarder and so when she wagged her tail it would violently smack against things. Split the poor tail open and got infected. The vets tried stitches, cleaning, and bandaging, but she just kept hitting it on things and opening the wound again.
They have so much wag to give, but it can be dangerous to them!!
We call those "whippy tails" around these parts. Thank you 3 year old at the dog park.
When my pit-boxer knocks things over with his tail it scares the crap outta him and he stops wagging immediately. It always calls for Tenacious D lyrics:
Whip-crack went his whippy tail, and the beast was done.
When my lab sits on the leather couch- Jumanji!
They hurt like a B on a bare leg too.
I think my in law’s lab mix has a little bit of pit in her for partially this reason. I get bruises from her tail every time I’m over there and play with her. But what am I gonna do, STOP playing with her? No chance.
I've had rescue pitmixes my whole life and only had one shoe chewed the whole time, no tail damage! i get a tail whip to the leg every now and then, but it's not as bad as an iguana tail whipping!
Ah that wonderful slap slap slap slap slap slap noise of a pitbull never gets old!
Pit's tails are weapons of mass destruction
Most of all they destroy themselves, which is why I'm ok with bobbing.
It was so satisfying when they synced.
It reminded me of when two cars have their turn signal lights on and how they’ll be in sync and then go out of sync, and back
The one on the right Wins!! Looks like double the speed. Maybe the left one got tired.
Attach a couple of fans to their tails and step on a skateboard. Instant environmentally-friendly transportation which only requires dog food for maintenance.
Don't forget regular petting and occasional interrogation of WHO'S A GOOD BOY, WHO'S A GOOD BOY?!
We need an edit where the guy takes flight
My black lab always loves the vet she’s such a good patient, can’t say the same for my cats though we have to use safety gloves just to get them in the kennel
I need a new set of windshield whippers!
I kept watching to see if they synced up
A wagging tail is one of the cutest things ever.
That’s the happiest thing I’ve seen all day.
So wiggly! Wish I had their energy
Two wiggly pitties the vet clinic yesterday
I think you accidentally a word
It happens 🤷♀️ even after proofreading sometimes
I love a happy puppy tail!
Sometimes I just marvel at how dogs are always like "oh hey! its you! yes I'm incredibly happy to see you!" for no reason at all.
I don’t even know what this man looks like but I know I’m incredibly attracted to him
It's me ur pitbull owner
Lock up yo’ kids! They gonna get a lot of kisses!
Oh dear god that is the cutest thing 😍
The untied shoe is bothering me
Like they are conducting a massive orchestra
Looks like little windshield wipers for his butt.
so adorable 😭
Pretty much every pitbull ever.
Missed opportunity, should have had them each in a cargo pocket.
Pit butt wiggles are the best. I have a male and female and it’s hilarious watching them trying and go down a staircase side by side.
Wow, my dogs hated going to the vet. My dog Max used to shake in fear when we got in the car to visit the vet.
The cutest thing I've seen today haha
they are such sweet, special dogs. there is just NOTHING as good as hugging a pibble pupper except for hugging 2!
To infinity and beyond!
Not sure if that's a happy or nervous waggle
They're puppies, they're probably happy. I think they would be making swimming movements with their legs and flailing to get away if they were nervous.
Mis-read the title and came here expecting pigs. Was not disappointed, though.
Someone else refers to them as pitties! Finally, I feel so validated.
I call them pibbles :) pitties is a cute term too though! :)
Happy little waggers
Love the breed
Awww, they're preparing for take off!
We don’t deserve them
Oh my goodness 😍😍😍 I'm physically in pain not being able to pet them... can. hardly. restrain.....
They are wiggling so much his pants are falling off.
Yes! Show me your Pitties!
Those tails and faces just scream "When does we gets to play with the peoples?!"
Hey...You...Show me them pitties!
This gives me life
Awwwww so adorable.
Love those happy tails
Can confirm, just took my pit mix to the vet - he LOVES it there despite getting shots, biopsies, etc
Not gunna lie, I read this as "Wiggly Panties" and I was like 'okay, yeah, lets go there'.
Wiggle wittles wittie pittie
Haahaa thats funny
They don’t know what horrors they are going into
All I see is one pupper, with all-black on the left side of his face and white with a black splotch on his right side, born with an oddly shaped hindquarter and two tails.
With his untied shoes and lack of belt he reminds me of the way a 1st grader dresses
