It’s true love
Wuv twue wuv is what gathers us here today.
Dat bwessed awangement...dat DWEAM wivvin a dweam...
I have a wedding greeting card with the priest on it and some of the text. The couple broke up before the big day, though. EDIT: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/232661436/princess-bride-mawwiage-priest-funny
It's the closed eyes too 😭
“The best moments of my life are those spent knocking things over at 3 in the morning with you.”
"Remember the time I pooped in Karens shoe and she blamed you? These are the things that made us the strong couple we are"
hahahah so good
Clawed up all of Karen new furniture
Yes, that was right after the time I horked up a fur ball on the bathmat and she blamed you
Until recently I had zero experience with cats but just started seeing someone who has them. The little dudes sprint around the room at at all hours of the night. One of them used my face as a springboard while I was sleeping and the other one will just jump on my chest and stare at me for minutes at a time at like 3am. I take it this is par for the course as far as cats are concerned?
Wear them out before bed by playing with them, then there's less chance of them running around. The jumping/laying on your chest is normal, and aside from shoving them off, there's nothing you can do to solve it.
This ^ tire them out before bed. Either get a laser pointer or use an old shoelace and attach it to the rod on your blinds, the thing that changes the direction of the blinds, and go crazy with it. The cat will also get enrichment and you'll laugh as they turn into a spaz.
I've heard using laser pointers with cats can be bad due to them never catching the elusive red dot. My ex used to use it ONLY if the cat got outside the house (indoor cat), it'd always, 100% of the time chase that little red dot right back into the house. I thought it was pretty smart.
At the end of the laser pointer play session, you can throw a cloth mouse onto the ground for them to actually catch.
I usually tire them out with the laser for the real exercise and switch to a mouse on a string at the end to give them the satisfaction of catching something.
I mean I understand that point. I do like the guy below you idea of throwing a toy or something for them to actually catch.
Any good cat exercises? I have a laser pointer but my cat stops chasing it after 30 seconds
something that they can actually catch is better, like a ball on a string. that way they get a reward and are still motivated to keep going for it
I would say use the laser pointer, and after a few seconds, point it at one of their toys. That way they pounce on something physical and get the feeling they caught something.
I believe there are copies now, but we got Da Bird. Spinning feathers, on the end of a string, with a stick for you to hold. They went nuts for it, at least when they were young. Something like that is worth a shot.
How do you wear out cats? One of them likes chasing the laser pointer dot around so that's definitely a good option. They've got toys and stuff too but they're more "i hate you you stupid string, die" type of toys and not "let me chase this ball around and get tired" types of toys.
Yep, laser pointer is classic. Do they like the string toys? If they do, take the handle of the string(or equivalent), and make the string move like an animal - make it crawl/move up legs of furniture, flit through the air like a bird, pause the string if you see the cat is trying to sneak up on it etc. Then, let the cat get part of the string and "kill" it for a few seconds, then find a way for the string to get out of the cats mouth or paws, and repeat the process. If, when you're playing with them, they stop reacting or paying attention to the string, just stop playing with them for the moment. Most adult cats are good with about 20 min of this per day.
basically you have to try all kinds of different things until you find what works for that cat. One of my cats goes nuts for a shoelace on the end of a rod/stick. The other could care less about it. But for him, a sticky octopus toy drives me crazy. I throw it on the ceiling and he stares at it and runs around for like 2 hours (I never let him actually get it because i don't want him to eat it).
Point is, there's no telling what particular toy will work for a cat. Although both my cats go nuts for the laser pointer... but I keep losing it so i don't use it that often since I can't find it most of the time.
Depends probably on the cat. Most of the life of our cat, she didn't do that (at night). When she started we got worried and brought her to the vet, discovering a tumor in her thyroid that kept her at a constant feeling of starving so she couldn't sleep.
My cat used my face as a springboard once. I woke up screaming, bleeding, and confused at 2am. It was a fun time. Thankfully it only ever happened the one time.
You've been welcomed into the family, you should feel good.
My second or third night over my GFs house, I woke up really early to her cat sleeping on my balls. I took that as my much calmer welcoming.
Nope. Mine sleeps through the night. I know because he sometimes wakes me up snoring.
But yes, he does like to run around for no reason at all, mostly after he shits in the box.
Until you become part of the background, they will be curious and a little skittish around you. Then they will begin to associate you with pets and foods, then it will all settle down. (Until they are hungry...)
Mine used to run around like that when he was a kitten but he grew out of it pretty quickly. Now he mostly just sleeps on the bed with me at the foot of the bed. He will wake me up if he's hungry or something, but he does so by pulling my sheets off, no joke. Easy solution to this is to make sure he has food before I go to bed. Otherwise he just comes to snuggle when I wake up. Makes it hard to get out of bed and go to work, lol, but it's pretty awesome.
Your significant others' cats will probably calm down as they get to know you. Make sure to give them treats and that'll speed the process along. Respect their space and offer petting when they're nearby, but do so gently so they don't get skittish. They just need to know you're a friend and not there to eat them the minute you get a chance to do so.
They call this "the zoomies"
Also the midnight crazies.
How are your cats so well-behaved?
Well it isn't unheard of, you gotta kick those kitties out of your room at night then. Sure it'll still be loud around the house if they're hype but at least you aren't getting drop kicked.
Depends on their age. My 4 year old cat just likes to sleep on the pillow next to my head with one paw touching my cheek so she knows if/when I get up.
Yup, ours sleep ( most ) all day. but from 11pm to 12:30 it’s zoom up and down stairs, followed by some wrestling, playing with stuffed mice and more running and more wrestling. Then a nap on the bed and repeat at 5:30 till 6:30, a short nap then breakfast and 8 hours of nap. Pretty much describes their day.
I take it this is par for the course as far as cats are concerned?
I'm afraid its the other way around. They figured you out and they tell only their best friends. ;=)
Years ago I had a roommate, and between us we had 4 cats. The 3 Am kitty races were killing us. The vet told us to feed them in the evening. They apparently need to get the zoomies out before eating, and feeding them on the morning was causing the problem. It took a few weeks, but their routine changed. Did they run around like furry dervishes in the mid afternoon? Don't know and don't care, we weren't home to be annoyed by it.
My cat was very trainable, BTW. Part of her personality, probably, but love, treats and an accurate water pistol were successful with her. Just putting it out there.
Yes you are now part of the family. The 3 am thing is midday for a cat and cats will sit and stare at things that they love so.
Yep, this is some pretty standard catting.
Welcome to the wonderful world of cat ownership!
Cats are naturally nocturnal, so they are active hunters at night. But they shouldn't be sprinting around. They will sleep on/with you. If you are a stranger, when you're sleeping is a good time for them to figure out who you are.
I'm a terrible cat owner. I love my cat to death (like, I'm insane about her), but we close the bedroom door when we go to sleep at night. But I also play with her before bed like others have said, and she doesn't meow or cause any trouble during the night. I honestly have no idea what she's doing at night. My dog doesn't sleep with us either, but that was part of the "agreement" my husband wanted when I decided I wanted a dog (and later our cat). I hate that he's not an animal person, but unfortunately he isn't. In fact, our cat hates him so much she'll sit on my lap when he's around and stare him down while screaming at him. He's never done anything mean to her, and even tried to make friends with her when I first brought her home, but I think she somehow senses that he's not "into" her. She was born a feral, and a coworker of mine, and myself were the only two people she ever liked, and she's extremely possessive of me and my things (I couldn't get hold of her until she was around 16 weeks old). ANYWAY, this was all a long-winded way of saying, maybe be just a little mean, and ask if you can kick them out at night. Others will probably hate me for suggesting that (especially Jackson Galaxy).
How purrfect of a quote
I used to keep a glass of water on my headboard/shelf thing until my family cat knocked it onto my face in the middle of the night. We just had to put him down today because of cancer and I'm gunna miss the shit out of that little asshole.
"You know that time I destroyed the seat of that chair, and blamed it on you? Fun Times"
This comment with this picture needs to be a greeting card.
Not pictured: the face bite 1 second later

Love is a fickle thing.
Then the slap fight/wrestling match/chase around the house. While knocking things over.
Came here for this!
I don't want to ever see another picture of these cats again, I just want this to be the one pure memory I have of them, because you can't get much more wholesome and cute than this
I’m not even at my final form
Why do you have to always use the word wholesome
Why do I feel like the tabby is about to jump the other one hard after this photo?
Same, bite def incoming
I can't tell if you mean violently, or for sex, but seeing as how violent cat sex is, I'm going with both
Because tabbys are assholes? That's what my tabby would do to my gray kitty.
let's spend all nine lives together - one is not enough
i want you here right by my side when things are getting tough
nothing's ever purrfect, friend, but with you i am strong
together we'll get thru the worst - you always right the wrong
n if someday you've gone away, n i'm left on my own
i'll find you, friend, were e're you are -
don't wanna be alone
I’ll just...”have an allergy attack” at work... 😭🤧
I’m going to print the picture of the cats with this poem on the side and hang it on my living room.
Damn these ninja’s
Already made this reply to a different comment, but this poem with this picture needs to be a greeting card, too.
I am going to use it as a greeting card
Schnoodle! Y u make me cri liek this????
Oh, Schnoodle, I love your verses. The perfect touch for this sweet picture.
Ahhh you got a Schnoodle Doodle!
I hope you and OP don't mind, I put pic and poem together and reposted (with credit in title)
You earned my up vote
These look exactly like my two cats...
Maybe someone broke into your house and took this picture?
Mine as well. Though my grey cat has a bit bigger white star, and my tabby has a splotch of white across his nose. Best buds.
When i was a kid, we had a Russian blue also. Very smart, even started using the toilet on his own. Eventually he went blind, and would bump into things, causing him to sneeze over and over. Felt bad for him, i think the record was 26 sneezes in a row.
In my experience with cats, this was immediately followed by a chomp to the top of the head or neck, and lots of hissing.
He’s about to bite her head, you can tell.

When cats have a better love life than you ... but at least they are very cute!
Two seconds after this picture was taken the cat on the left clawed the cat on the right!
That's the gesture a cat makes right before biting another cat's ear.
Can anyone give me advice on this:
8 months ago we started feeding a stray cat and it continued to come to our house and slowly it made our house it's home. She goes out for long periods of time but always returns to our home. 4 months ago she gave birth to a female cat and a male cat. She took very good care of her kittens and was very protective and wouldn't leave the house except for shitting and peeing. And sometime last week she broke her leg(in a fight with other cats i think). Now she's the complete opposite. She growls at her kittens and is somewhat offensive and almost treats them like her enemy.
What to do?
EDIT: Grammar - non-native English speaker.
Get her treated. A cast will be cheap. She maybe in a lot of pain. I once had a stray cat and we had similar behavioural problems after a thigh fracture. Once the fracture healed, it was back to being playful and loving.
If you were in pain and had to deal with your kids, you’d be pissy, too. Cats can communicate clearly with just body language. So just because you didn’t see the kittens doing anything worth getting growled at doesn’t mean they weren’t aggravating mom.
Cats are not assholes.
proof that there is something wrong with people that don't like cats.
... he purred and knocked her off the table.
"Hey, baby. How about you come back to my cardboard box and let's crack open a 10 year old can of tuna."
True relationship goals
Reminds me of bluestar and oakheart from warriors
Cats are dominating the front page, the revolution is finally happening!
Can't figure if right is a kitten or left an absolute unit.
This is probably my new favorite picture.
They are such pretty kitties.
i wish i had a human counterpart like that.
🎶 Now I need you more than ever 🎶
Can we talk about the chicken painting now?
My cats just hiss at each other
Meanwhile, my older cat is currently chewing on my younger cats head.
Wish a cat would hug me like that too
I just want some love
So go get a cat
3 seconds later...bite to face because cat
9 lives to spend together in love 😻
when you realise that a cat has a better love life than you :(
still happy for the cats tho
Awwww! He's holding his paw on her back!
And ten seconds later they were fighting again.
This image is both lovely and melancholy to me. I used to own a cat called Lula and another called Bilbo. Lula died in 2015 but the grey cat in the picture looks just like her. Bilbo is still alive and looks identical to the other cat in the picture, the black and Orange one. I know it’s just a coincidence and that I’m overthinking this, but it reminds me of how those two acted so much.
Please spend as much time with not just your cats, but the people you love too. You never know when you will say goodbye.
We also know they could jump at each others throats in a matter of seconds, as soon as one of them is done with either licking or being licked, that's even cuter.
Stahp! Too many feels!
Man, used to have a cat exactly like that until she ran away...still miss Sophie, what a loving cat 😢
A cats life time with the ones you love is worth 100 human life times alone.
This is simply PURR-fect
What a sweet photo - I love cats!
Awwww that's so incredibly cute.
Made me say “aww” out loud
It's unusual to see this kind of love between cats that aren't sibs /em melts
Oh my god, stop it with that title :')
Best title ever.
This is the cutest picture on the internet right meow.
We have 2 cats and they have the same furr and do the same thing! When they both lay on the couch they will literally start hugging eachother.
