"Yeah yeah, the pic looks good."
"Bruh, look closer."
"Yeah, looks fine. Thanks."
"Motherfucker, let me zoom in."
Bro, maybe if your screen wasn't 3 1/2 inches
There is a penis joke in there somewhere.
And it wasn’t bright as fuck out here
"Take your eyes off that box of crayons and look at the damn picture!"
Samuel L. Jackson cast in the reenactment.
Give this man a gold
She is so cute back there, waiting for him to realize!
Man that dudes smile is infectious. You just know he’s a good dude and a good friend and a good son. Would love to have some beers with the guy. He’s not even my son and I’m proud as hell of him. You go dude!
Infectious smiles are no joke. Get tested.
Thanks for the reminder!
I nearly caught one recently that was going around but thankfully my doc had prepared me for such a possibility!
Speaking as the father of a child who's heading into a military career, I guarantee you that Marines dad was so full of pride that day his chest hurt.
Hug that boy every chance you get and let him know how proud you are of him my friend
Thanks, I do hug as much as is tolerated and regularly mention my pride in their effort and achievement.
And a plot twist, ..... it's my youngest daughter.
She's always looked for the hard challenges and ways to prove herself both mentally and physically.
She's shooting to commission as a Marine officer in two years.
She was fitting herself in the picture they were taking while trying to stay hidden. That way his friend could show him the picture he just took so that he would see his girlfriend in it and then be like, "WTF, how? Oh, you're here!"
Puppy gifs are great, but I could watch these surprise videos for the rest of my life
Love what i assume is the proud father here as well. So much love in this family
That Pop deserves his swollen chest. He just completed his job of producing one of America's finest. It made me feel proud for him.
Yeah, the dad is happy now until he realizes how much money he is going to spend on crayons for this young marine to eat.
He's not an officer, Uncle Sugar pays for his crayons.
Looks to be a marine himself too
Hi I'm from Sweden.
Um... Swollen chest? wat.
Something I'll never know.
Must be nice to not have parents who see dating as "something from Satan"
Lol you should ask them how they met
they met at work and then had me.
And decided that Jehovah's Witnesses were the route to go. Fuck Jehovah's Witnesses
Dont worry man it gets better, trust me. Eventually you'll be old enough to move out and your parents wont have the same stranglehold they have on your life right now. Knew a guy who was a JW and gay. His parents were deeply in denial that he was. As soon as he was old enough he moved out and got boyfriend. Hed be super public in showing his affection to said boyfriend around town to drive his parents insane. It was hilarious.
Watch pop’s misdirection technique. Man has had to shy this kid on before, and he’s almost too good at it for young miss.
That moment of realization. True happiness.
"See the pic?"
"Uh huh, thanks"
"Let me zoom it"
"Ok, yeah, cool"
"DAMN KID, LOOK AT WHO IS NEXT TO YOU IN THE PIC"
It's his first taste of normal human interaction in 13 weeks, it takes adjustment.
I remember when my now ex-girlfriend came and visited me for my graduation. Possibly the best moment of my life.
Months of getting yelled at and shit on, and you get this tap on your shoulder and it’s this little cute ball of sunshine just standing there smiling at you.
That’s the good stuff man.
and how did it end?
I got stationed over seas for four years. We stayed together for a year, but it just didn’t work out.
Long distance is a bitch.
But then what is the gooder stuff?
I felt robbed. The gif ended way too soon!
The hat! It's forever falling... hurdling toward the unknown.
Probably the pavement...
But who knows!
That's why the gif ended so soon. As soon as dude's CO saw that cover hitting the ground things got ugly and the guy recording edited out the smoke.
Hahaha! I actually came down into the comments to see if anyone in the know would inform as to whether or not he'd get in trouble for letting his hat fall! I got my answer.
PUT THAT COVER BACK ON
Had to cut the video to hide the evidence of him getting dressed down in front of his family.
That video ended because his Drill Instructor magically appeared and locked him the fuck up in front of his entire family for letting his cover hit the deck. I can only imagine his father (who may have been a Marine himself from his hat) laughing at the entire situation while everyone else is too scared to say anything.
"I have been falling..FOR THIRTY MINUTES!"
Married her two seconds later and bought a Mustang at 22% APR.
Is it 22% now? It was about 17% when I was in. Nice to know the hustlers are keeping up with inflation.
First Sarnt still taking care of us.
Jodi now borrows said Mustang when he's on deployment. lol
To go get banged out by whomever
Yellow or orange?
The drill sgt then beat his ass for getting his hat dirty.
Lookin good Devil Dog! Marines have THE best uniforms in the military.
Army here, I agree
Air Force here. Every Service Dress is better than ours.
You guys have the pinks and greens now, right? That shit looks dooope.
At least we are retiring our mailman uniform soon....hopefully.
All the other services envy the air force chow halls though.
I was in the Corps and the Navy had some decent chow halls we occasionally ran across, but nothing beat the air force. AF dudes even get extra pay for having to be stationed with the Marines because the base/barracks quality is too low for the AF standards.
The cost guard actually has some pretty good food too. Also, the lines are tolerable so theres that.
Edit :have to add that my USCG friends always yell this stuff out.
Haha i was army as well! Talk about uniform envy. Only time i ever felt better dressed was when i got my wings and could wear my jump boots with my greens.
The Army’s blues were definitely a step in the right direction from the greens, but damn. Those Corps uniforms will always look the best
Jump boots with dress uniforms look pretty bad-ass, bloused or tucked it doesn't matter.
Yah but Private's cover hit the ground and there will be hell to pay.
That's a Private First Class, or boot for short.
This is weird, but with that belt all I can think of is one of my favorite Sherlock episodes, where the man is wearing his dress uniform at Watson's wedding and is found dead in his hotel room.
They figure out it's because someone stabbed him under the belt, but it was so tight he couldn't feel it and when he got into the room and clicked his belt off it released the pressure that sealed the wound and instantaneously hemmoraged to death. He had been stabbed for hours and didn't even know it, leaving plenty time for the murderer to blend in, which I think ended up being the wedding photographer, but I am not sure.
Sorry. Random af, but this uniform has the same style belt, even though that veteran in the story was a Brit. Hehe. Yay. I like my husband's dress blues but that's just me. I've heard rumors they goin back to green or something but maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. I think I'd like green. Match my grandfather. K I'm done with the oversharing.
Nice. Luckily it was just an episode of Sherlock and not a show in which the murder method carries significant importance.
military World. FTFY
As an airman I agree
And they realized that decades ago and didn't spend billions on different uniforms just to go back to their original.
Off goes the hat!
Not a marine, but I assume if his superiors saw that, shit would not be good.
It's graduation. They'd probably just tell you to pick it up. They may drop you, but it wouldn't be mean-spirited. They're just as happy to get your ass out of there as you are to leave.
There is a basically zero chance that they will drop you in front of all the families at grad.
I was never on the drill field, but I would never have chewed out a Marine in front of his family unless there was something truly unsafe going on, and even then, I'd have correct the issue and deal with the actual consequences later.
Agree. One of the most common phrases I heard when I was in was "perception is reality". Breaking someone down in front of families gives a pretty shit perception to the families around who wouldn't understand. It would be like putting dirty laundry out for everyone to see. That's just a cringe inducing as the cover popping off.
Exactly; pick up the cover, tell him to put it back on, then haze the shit out of him later oorah!!
Truth. It would have to be something so out of line that it would require immediate action, and this is nowhere near that. We got dropped at graduation in a non-smoking manner. Nothing like what actually went on those 16 weeks we were there.
16 weeks?! How long were you in the receiving platoon?
It means to order them to the ground to perform some sort of physical activity. Could be bear crawls, pushups, Spiderman, whatever. Gwt down and fucking push private.
Anything is preferable to watching TV and changing channels. Fuck that shit.
Watching TV - Get down in a push-up position. Prop your lower half just on your toes and your upper half on just your elbows.
Change channel - reach out with either arm, while watching (imaginary) TV and turn the (imaginary) knob to turn the channel.
DI proceeds to tell you what shows he likes and doesn't like and apparently it's a 200+ channel package.
I was in the Army, so I can't exactly speak to this situation, but we had a guy in his dress uniform walking and eating (which was apparently bad). A drill sees this and proceeds to rip his ass to shreds. Granted this was the basic training graduation portion of OSUT, so we still had 9 weeks to go, but still. I always remembered to not do that, even when I got to my duty station and saw it from SGTs and Officers across the board.
Yeah but hugging a loved one at graduation is very different than walking while chowing down; that rule is beat into you from day one.
Definitely agree, two different situations. Just seemed extreme at the time and caught everyone way off guard.
lol whats the issue with walking and eating? I already knew military life was a joke but it just seems more hilarious everytime I hear something new about it
Dude what if you choke, the heimlich is hard enough to get right and even harder on a moving target
Walking and eating is impolite where I'm from but I was in the military so I can attest to this "wierd" rule.
It's against the rules to walk and eat in any uniform in the military let alone the dress uniform it's a very traditional, very expensive uniform.
Imagine wearing an expensive suit, representing a well known company, celebrating something nice and people around you are dressed up as well. Everyone trying to avoid getting anything on their suits and there you are just walking around chowing down on a hot dog. That's so disrespectful bruh
Really depends on the person who sees it happen, some people will freak out over it even though it is graduation. Others never will care and will just tell you to pick it up.
"bruh you know I was there, why you want me to look at this Pic so bad?"
We did this to my brother when he graduated too! He called his girlfriend just as she was walking to the building where we were about to eat lunch at and he left the saddest voicemail I’ve ever heard just saying how much he loved her and wished she was there with us. Then when he hung up and turned around he saw her there and was completely speechless. So glad we were able to surprise him!
The plan was not executed properly lol but awesomeness
That is one handsome looking guy. They make an adorable couple.
A fine young man celebrating with his loved ones. Salute.
“GET THAT COVER BACK ON YOUR GRAPE!”
It's good to see people happy. It ain't happen to me anytime soon lol...
I feel you, just gotta keep on keepin on and work on whatever you can however you can on whatever’s making you unhappy- thats the theory, anyway
Keep your head up brother! You are not alone! Somethings good gonna come up brother you wont even expect it
Just keep a positive out look good things and people are always looking to be found they’re just hard to find you’ll get yours as long as you put in the effort
You know what you should do? Make passive aggressive comments about it on reddit - that's the cure for self diagnosed depression.
I’d give you silver but I don’t want to financially support this site
Oh, I give you little bit of my happiness. Here you go. Have fun with it and pass it on (makes you even more happier)!
PICK UP YER FUCKIN COVER
I'm just here for the 'Pick up your Cover, Marine!' comments.
Such a cute couple!
I can connect on a deep level with the look on his face when looking at the picture "yeah Uncle John ur picture looks awesome👍”
Damn cute couple.
Smoking hot couple
Very wholesome. I wonder if my parents will ever be that proud of me. Maybe one day
It cuts off at the best part 😫
Watch dude's lack of awareness get his entire platoon killed.
I need some audio on this!
She is stunning.
Good looking couple
His jaw-drop is priceless
Damn that is something sweet!
Dad is such a dad with that outfit, hat, camera, and mustache. I love it.
Dad/grandpa is a master of distraction. That "look over there point" and then blocking his view of her with his body was art in motion.
His gf is cute af
Aaaaaaaaand his cover fell off so they killed him...
She got pregnant THAT night. With a girl that fine and being in boot camp hell for 3 months you know he was beating that shit till it broke.
yeah yeah the pic looks good mom (lets go) .. wait what??!!
I hope he remembered to squeeze his thighs
