Well, imaginary poster that I'm using to justify this post, let me explain:
Our pokey little refunds subreddit has garnered a fair number of users and is dangerously close to becoming a "community" of sorts. Now, obviously the mod team is pretty thrilled about that - what we thought was going to be a dead quiet archive of instructions has coalesced into a pretty darn great group of posters, as far as we're concerned.
The downside to this is that it takes a lot of the conversation away from refunds and how to get them, which is really the main purpose of this subreddit. We often see threads posted that are fun and good but also kind of "clutter up" the queue, for lack of a better word. In an attempt to find a middle ground, we're going to institute a weekly discussion thread, for all the little bits and bobs that might not necessarily deserve a thread of their own and also just for talking about your day or whatever.
"Okay, well what kind of stuff belongs here anyway?"
There's no real hard set rule, but things that are only tangentially related to Star Citizen or the refunds process should probably get posted here. For example, consider posting these to the chat thread instead of making their own thread for them:
- Funny Screenshots
- Hot takes about how other games are better than Star Citizen
- Funny things other reddit guys said
- Funny things Derek Smart said
- Funny things people on Something Awful said
- Speculation about why there are no actual employees at CIG LA and how much they're paying the crisis actors to show up for each ATV.
As a final note, if you're linking a big article or you really feel the topic will stand on its own legs and spark interesting conversation, go ahead and post it as its own thread. Worst case scenario, a mod might ask you to remove it and repost it in here.
